• What English Language learning programmes do you offer?

  • +

We offer a one month English for Special Purposes (ESP), culture and language immersion experience. This is designed for professionals or students preparing to enter a career.  We also have a one regular  English as a Second Language (ESL) Programme. Within the one year period, the four levels listed below can be completed.

  • How long would it take me to complete the ESL Programme?

  • +

There are four levels of the ESL programme:

Basic/Beginner
Elementary
Intermediate
Advanced
A student could complete one level per quarter (12 weeks / 3 months) thus it is possible to complete the four levels, in 4 quarters or one full year.

  • When can I start?

  • +

You can start at the following enrollment times: January, April or  September. If however, you are pursuing our ESP programme with a cohort size of 10 or more students, you can enroll at any time.

  • Is it possible to stay off campus?

  • +

Yes, it is possible to stay off campus, however, you would be responsible to locate a place on your own.

  • Do I need a meal plan?

  • +

If you stay off campus, the cafeteria meal plan is not required, but once you are staying in our dormitory, it is required to have a two meal or three meal plan. The only exception is if you have submitted medical reasons requiring you to do so.

  • Can I work on campus?

  • +

There may be options available but please note that working is a privilege and you are coming to be a student first and foremost. Also, working on campus does not afford you enough money to be able to cover your school expenses. Note: it is illegal to work off campus with a student permit.

  • How do I  qualify for one of the levels indicated above?

  • +

Upon completion of application form, you will be  given a placement test, which will determine your starting level in the ESL programme.

  • What is a Student permit and how do I apply?

  • +

According to Trinidad and Tobago immigration laws, ESL Students must pay and apply for a student permit. Our student centre can help you with this process. See the fee schedule for the student permit fee. ESP Students do not require a Student Permit, since their stay is no more than 1 month, and is part of a wider student exchange programme.

  • How do I get accepted to come and study?

  • +

Simply complete our application form and submit with  all required documents. If any of your documents needs official translation, please scan and send by email to our office
